Corey moved to Chicago from St. Louis, to attend Loyola University of Chicago. She graduated with associates degrees in psychology and sociology and continued to pursue her passion earning a master’s degree in counseling at Argosy University of Chicago. Corey received her License in Clinical Professional Counseling in March 2015 and has been a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 2014.
Since 2011, Corey has expanded her knowledge and competency in counseling working with diverse adults experiencing concerns with anxiety, sadness, trauma, and serious mental illnesses at Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare. Here Corey is a clinical supervisor overseeing 5 counselors to hence their clinical expertise and effectiveness.
At Next Step Counseling, Corey provides both individual therapy and couples counseling. Through individual therapy sessions, Corey assists clients who are going through various struggles including depression, self-esteem and life transitions such as working through loss and grief, breakups and divorce recovery, moving to a new city, relationship uncertainty, dating or making a career change. Corey also has strengths in providing support to clients whom are struggling with peer and relationship issues. Corey is very passionate about assisting couples develop their full relationship potential by increasing communication skills and making transitions in their relationships, such as moving in together, getting married or navigating parenthood. Corey is highly skilled at assisting individuals, whether single or in a relationship, to develop upon their strengths and their own narrative when faced with outside pressures from society, family and friends.
Outside of her career, Corey enjoys running with her dog, listening to music, reading and yoga.
