Outside of the office, Keirstin enjoys spending time with her mischievous dogs, taking long walks around the city and searching for the perfect bowl of ramen.

At Next Step counseling, Keirstin creates a compassionate space where clients can explore a healthy understanding of themselves and their relationships. She honors each client as an individual and views counseling as a collaboration between equals. Working with Keirstin, clients foster self-insight and develop healthy coping skills.
As an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor, she incorporates intersectional experiences into her work. She also includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness to aid the therapeutic process. Keirstin has a strong interest in working with couples and is a level one trained Gottman Method Couples therapist.
Prior to clinical mental counseling, Keirstin provided developmental academic advising to college students for more than a decade. In that role, she took a holistic approach, focusing on people’s environment, background and unique challenges. She uses this same integrative approach in her counseling practice to meet the individual needs of her clients.
